Brain (drummer/producer/engineer for Primus, Guns N' Roses, Buckethead)

Over the course of a year I make quite a lot of random sounds and drones which are then heavily processed with effects and put away in a folder until we start recording our songs. Then Melodyne becomes extremely useful because I can re-tune the samples for use in a song where the sample key didn’t match the key of the song. I'm loving it, it makes things so easy. I cannot wait for the Direct Note Access software, too!

I can't live without my Melodyne! It's the fastest and easiest to use. The artists I work with are short on time, so if there's a new harmony, that needs to be created, I don't have to call them in, just fire up Melodyne and create it! Not to mention the "Random pitch & Time" feature that lets me create a double of the lead in seconds!

Melodyne is the only choice for helping create great vocals and instrument tracks as well as fixing existing ones. I recently moved to Logic and their built-in method of time stretching wasn’t really doing it for me. Logic is incredible, but using Melodyne makes it even more simplified and enjoyable. I don’t really read manuals, but there really isn’t much involved to get great results. I do loads of remixes and I would encourage everybody doing remix work to make sure they have Melodyne. Whether it be the plug-in or the Studio Edition, it's an absolute necessity for the computer.
