Peter Gabriel is using Melodyne for years now – he was the very first customer in our web shop – mainly for experimental work. Years ago he already said: “Melodyne is software I got very excited about. It allowed us to take source material from anywhere, in our case from the natural world, and turn it into MIDI control data that would allow us to manipulate musical instruments, so we could have birds playing cellos or horns, or the wind playing strings...”

Since we had shown our new technology DNA Direct Note Access in Spring 2008, Gabriel was following the developments closely. When our public beta started in Fall 2009, Dickie Chappell, engineer at the Real World Studios, got right down to work with his colleagues using the beta versions of Melodyne editor. We are very happy that Melodyne editor gave them good results even with very complex orchestra material.
