Audio Mechanics has quickly become one of the most sought-after re-mastering studios in Southern California. They have a reputation for aesthetic integrity and extreme technical proficiency. Specializations include sound restoration, music mastering, sound editing, and forensic audio. Their new facility in Burbank, CA features state-of-the-art adaptable 5.1 mastering rooms, a recording studio suitable for bands and ADR work, and a stereo mastering control room. Audio Mechanics has maintained, through word-of-mouth, an impressive list of corporate and independent clientele in the music, film, and television industries. Their experience in dealing with wow and flutter in master recordings is vast, and includes developing proprietary software for the restoration of The Robe (1953) – the first 4-track stereo sound film released. In their own words, Capstan adds a very important tool to Audio Mechanics' arsenal.

Audio Mechanics about Capstan:

“I did a Capstan demo for some executives at 20th Century Fox and they were blown away! For some of the cues, I didn't even have to do any tweaking, so it only took a few seconds to fix the wow.” – Ellis Burman, audiomechanics.com

Reynolds Mastering about Capstan:

“Using Capstan, I was able to correct a problem with a recording of Hartmann: Symphony No2 ‘Adagio’ recorded live in 1955 by the Kölner Radiosinfonieorchester. The recording, originally cut on acetate, had been transferred to tape which had, over time, sustained damage. This resulted in parts of the tape sticking together which caused periodic sharp speed and pitch variations – very unpleasant to listen to but now completely restored.” – Pete Reynolds
