Video producer

Our film team is seeking reinforcement!

As a video producer, you will be working freelance for Celemony. You will produce films in which the functioning of Melodyne is explained and suggestions offered as to how best to use it for music production. These films will be shown on our web site, on Youtube and on demo CDs as well as in a number of other presentation formats.

You will be developing film ideas on your own initiative or else in response to a briefing by us; after clearing the ideas with our product management team, you will receive a treatment and contract to realize your ideas in accordance with our technical specifications. You will then deliver for each film a fully edited and mixed Final Cut project. We will complete the voice recordings, perform the final audio mix and deal with the publication of the film. Here are a few examples to indicate the form and scope of our films.

You must be able to speak English or German fluently and have many years of experience in music production. You must already be familiar with Melodyne from your day-to-day work and have professional experience with at least one of the major DAWs: Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Studio One or similar. You must have prior video experience and know how to use the application Final Cut. Furthermore you must be in a position to acquire within a short time a basic working knowledge of the application Screenflow. An important part of your work for Celemony will be to produce suitable music that you can guarantee is not subject to copyright.

Your remuneration will be calculated on the basis of expenses plus a fixed fee for each film contracted for. We assume that you have suitable equipment and instruments to create recordings without further costs (except musicians’ fees after consultation).

In addition to the professional working conditions, you will find participation in our film team fun: as the maker of the film, your name – and your music – will become known to a wide public and through the direct dialogue with our product management team you will become familiar with the fascinating world of software development. You will not be working exclusively for Celemony; you will, however, be under a duty to respect the confidentiality of any inside information or insights that you obtain as a result of your behind-the-scenes access to the product development process – for example, when creating films about upcoming products.

If interested, please write an informal letter of application and e-mail it to our colleague Tom Bratka, including a short CV and, if possible, also some background information about how you personally work with Melodyne, your favorite features of the program and your preferences with regard to music production in general. Please also attach to your mail a sample of your work about two minutes in length in which – using the tutorial films referred to above as a guide – you explain any function or feature of Melodyne you please.

Here you will find further technical information concerning this sample film.

We look forward to your application.
