Can the Melodyne Editor be used in the Pro Tools "AudioSuite"?
I use Antares Auto Tune like this all the time but they have major issues with the tuner so I'm looking for an alternative.
    Thanks for any help.

OK...Been working with this a couple days.
    Very user friendly.
    Tunes very nicely.
    Inserting into track is nice.
    But now to process?
Too many things to go through to spot tune vocals. Especially a lot of vocals.
It looks like a no go for AudioSuite in Pro Tools. What a shame. :(
    Other than that, Great product.

I need something I can move fast with.

Hey Celemony Team, If you get an AudioSuite version of this going, I'll buy this in a heartbeat. :)

    Why Not?

    Hello GuyPicks,

Are you talking about Melodyne as a real-time effect? This is not possible, I'm afraid, and it is not what Melodyne is designed for. Melodyne will always have to analyze your audio material first, in fact that's actually a crucial precondition for its sound quality. This has been discussed before every now and then, see here for example (although this is from a different context, but you'll get the idea).

Of course there are pitch and timing macros in Melodyne, though, for a "quick and dirty" approach. But again, you should be aware that for best and most convincing results you should take some time and edit your audio manually and listen to what are you doing.

    Hi Claudio!

No, when he is talking about Audio Suite he means the offline-processing format of Pro Tools.
Plugins for Pro Tools are usually TDM or RTAS but most of the time they are also Audio Suite plugins.
They show up in a special menu to directly render FX to a file.
For example functions like "normalize", "reverse" or "gain" are Audio Suite plugins in Pro Tools.
So when using Normalize (or WavesTune or Autotune!) you simply select a region, make your settings in the now open plugin window (eventually click prelisten first - when using WavesTune or Autotune this will then play back to the analyze function of the plugin) - and then press "render" or "spot" -> to directly replace the file in the session with the changed audio.
I also just found out about Melodyne not being Audio Suite - having to work on a lot of vocals in Pro Tools in my new work field...
I actually can't see any reason why this shouldn't work, I actually think that EVERY plugin I have shows up there - except Melodyne???

    Greetings from Hamburg,
    Mathias Riediger
