    Hello,

I own both Melodyne Studio 3 & Melodyne single track, and I'm wondering whats the best way to transpose an entire mix by -1 semitone. For fun tried the demo for IRCAM tools TRAX, which is a realtime plugin, and it did a pretty good job, but I'm wondering if Melodyne will do an even better job as an offline processor?

So far I have tried it in Melodyne Studio, and I must say I'm a little disappointed by the results, and hoping its user error. I tried using automatic detection first, and found that the separations were causing weird artifacts in the mix. So I switch detection mode to "No Separation," and re-detected, and its doing a better job, but it still doesn't seem to sound as good as the TRAX realtime plugin!

Am I doing something wrong? Melodyne is making it sound more grainy and weird when compared to TRAX. Are there any tutorials out there for pitch shifting entire mixes with Melodyne products?

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

edit: I went ahead and put the mp3's online for comparison.

    Hi,
I think, the easiest way to transpose the whole track is by using Time and Pitch Machine in Logic.
Open the track in Sample Editor>Factory>Time and Pitch Machine. 1 semitone=100cents.
