    Melodyne editor
Please forgive me if someone has posted this before - I'm not sure what to search for in this case.

My editor has just done final edits of all my songs in ProTools, where he removed all the extra material and changed the start of the song to zero in the timeline (during the editing process we position the edited version after all the source material, typically about 75 minutes into the track).

But I had asked him to keep the Melodyne plugin active a little longer in the process (rather than printing to a new WAV file for each track), and we both forgot that this wouldn't work. So now I have nice clean edited versions of all the songs on my CD where the Melodyne'd tracks have no sound because the transferred material is still 75 minutes later.

Is there any precise way to fix this (where we can compare region "spot" times and align things exactly), or do we need to throw away these versions and start from scratch (repeating the same cleanup process but NOT sliding everything to zero in the timeline)?

    Thanks!

    Mark

    Hello Mark,

If you have simply moved the entire vocal part (or whatever you put Melodyne on), you have two options:
    1) Select all blobs in Melodyne, pick the Move tool and move the blobs to the correct position in time.
    or
    2) Since the Melodyne blobs should still play where they used to be, you could print them to a new track only now and redo the final Pro Tools edits to the bounced version.

If, however, you have applied a lot of Pro Tools edits after moving the regions, then it would probably be best to retransfer them to Melodyne and redo the Melodyne work.
