Is there a method to interconnect previously non-contiguous notes that enables pitch and other transitions between the blobs?

I have not been able to achieve this with any combination of double- and/or other clicking. The transition cursor/tool/icon appears on the blob but no dice :(

    Hello koolmeme,

Where do the non-contiguous notes come from? Have you made two separate transfers to Melodyne? Or some copy/paste operation? Could you give us more details, please?

Let's use copy/paste as an example. Want to copy a note and create/enable a transition between the copied note and another, non-contiguous, note from the same transfer.

Say there were one hundred notes in the transfer and I want to connect the first and (arbitrarily) the fifteenth.

So the second note is deleted and the fifteenth note is pasted after/adjacent the first note and (graphically, at least) connected. However, I cannot get the two notes to share a transition (pitch transition or other) as none previously existed.

Is it possible to create this transition in some manner?

    Hello,

And sorry for the late reply.

No, I'm afraid this is not possible. The pitch transitions are only available for notes that have been contiguous from the beginning.

There is no dedicated function for creating new transition-lines in the Singletracks. Transitions exists between notes that have been contiguous from the beginning. A method to achieve this if you absolutely want to (connecting note #1 with note #15 as in your example) is to place note #15 after note #1 as you have done already and then choose Save As Audio. Closing and reopening the audio will force a new detection to be made. In this new detection the notes are contiguous from the beginning and a transition-line will exist between them.

The simplest procedure is then to set an exact loop that covers the notes and choose save audio (with new name) and check the box "cycle only" and drag & drop the sample back into your project and replace the original notes with the "bounced" sample.

The above refers to using the Stand alone version which can export audio. Regarding a DAW transfer it becomes messy. You could insert a second plug-in in the chain and do a transfer which would pick up the edits from the first and deliver the result but the Stand alone is the best choice for this.

Thanks to all for the consideration and great responses. Since the original post I had positioned the #1/#15 and re-recorded off to a separate track within the DAW as suggested below. Bit of overhead, yes, but has worked well for my purposes by introducing additional opportunity for layering/randomness in the tracks that would have not otherwise occurred. All good.

    Great forum! Great product!
