Melodyne studio
|
|
Hi,I have dragged aiffs ,which I bounced in Logic 8,as mono files and which,I saved in a seperate folder on my external hard drive(i am running macbook pro intel core2 duo)Now,when I open Melodyne studio, into which I dragged each file,it seems that,Melodyne has to recopy each file again ,before it can open the track. For instance, logic seems refer to an alias within the arrangement page itself and so,at my best guess, this might be something to do with it.As I am sure you can tell,I am not "boffinated" to any great degree but kudos to those of you who are and if you have a spare 5 minutes ,in which to bring any light to this question, then please feel free to illuminate !
with thanks,Celtic Surfer.

Hello,
Melodyne studio does not recopy any files. But as you might know, Melodyne must analyze the files before you can edit them. Depending on the duration and complexity of your audio material, this might take a while. Then again, when opening an audio file for the first time, Melodyne studio should write an MDD file which enables it to open the file much faster the next time. The detection process is only started when there is no MDD file sitting next to your audio file.
Can you verify this?
