    Melodyne plugin
I would like to see the Melodyne plugin to have a better way to transfer the audio from the DAW to Melodyne plugin because it takes too long to wait for the transfer if you want to quickly transfer the whole track you would have to play through the song. If it is possible, I would like it to work like how V-vocal in Cakewalk analyzes the audio that was selected and after a few seconds I would be able to edit right away.

    Hello sharpdion23,

I agree with you, a faster integration would be wonderful. However, a plug-in can only work with what the hosting DAW provides it with. If, for example, the DAW does not allow dragging and dropping audio to its plug-ins, then there is not much we can do about it.

On the other hand, if you think of all the magic you can do with Melodyne after a 4-minute transfer, it should be worth the wait. ;)

hi guys. i've asked for this many times! in my job the time mounts up and i often use cubase built-in vari-audio even though it isn't as good as Melodyne, simply because clients want things fast... if you are tuning 6 or 8 tracks of backing vocals, cubase lets you open the clip, edit all quicker than it would take to trasnfer the stuff into Melodyne in real time.
here is a link to harmony plugin that also does pitch detection. they HAVE been able to set it up to analyse without having to be recorded in realtime. http://vielklang.zplane.de/
so if they can do it, it must be possible!
    please try.
with this function i would use Melodyne for EVERY pitch edit. the realtime transfer is way past it's bedtime!

    Hello Eddie,

I agree that a seamless integration into the host has advantages. So does realtime processing. However, we do want to rely on quality by first taking a look at the signal to achieve the best possible results.
Is it possible that Vielklang does not record at all? This would be a main difference.
How would Vielklang react to a shift in time position in the sequencer?
A faster workflow without the need (or automatic) detection is something that would be great, I agree. However, it is up to the specifications of the plug-in interface itself and the host.

Hi ulf. thanks for reply. there is a demo of the veilklang harmony plugin to try for free. check it out. i haven't used it enough to confirm anything other than the fact it allows the user to drop a file in while running as a vst plugin, then it analyses the file quicker than realtime, just like the way standalone Melodyne editor works. it also sounds bad from what i've heard!
