    1.0.11
Mac Dual 1.8, 4 Gb RAM, Pro Tools 8.0, 003R
    Hi.

i have a very large and important session in pro tools that i've been working on for the past few weeks with no problems, however, two days ago i installed the update for melodyne editor and the session will no longer open. it gets as far as activating inserts then crashes with a dialogue saying PT unexpectedly quit.
there were several instances of melodyne plugin being used in the session but most of them had been made inactive i think.
to try and work around the problem i created a new session and imported session data. initially i tried importing all channels but this just made it crash the same way so instead i imported each channel individually until i found the channel that causes the crash. this channel is a vocal channel which makes me think it must be to do with melodyne. has anyone else had a similar problem?
would it be worth uninstalling melodyne, opening the session then reinstalling?

melodyne seems to work fine in new sessions.

    please help!!!!!

I've had the same problem with one of my sessions after I upgraded to the editor. It give the "unexpectedly quit" dialog while trying to load all the inserts--it specifically crashes once it reaches the lead vocal insert (the one I used the plugin version on). It is quite frustrating. I've tried uninstalling the editor, but it still wouldn't open.

    Hello all,

please be aware of our compatibility list.
    http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=host_comp
Only Pro Tools 8.0.1 and higher are officially supported with Melodyne editor plugin RTAS. Use with previous versions of Pro Tools is on your own risk. jared1426 and davashmusic, which versions of Pro Tools are you running?
Regarding the crash and the track causing this: Are you able to import other tracks that contain Melodyne plugin instances successfully?

To nail down your problems, I ask you to write individually to support AT celemony DOT com, including the text of the crash report, that is displayed after the message that Pro Tools unexpectedly quit.
Please include your system details in the mail.

    Thanks
    Nils

Wondering if the crash issues discussed in this thread were solved? My business partner has, as far as I can tell, the same issue - same error message, can't open the PT session (crashes when lead vocal track that has melodyne plugin loads). He is struggling to get a project done for a customer and ran into this issue.

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Dear Bob,

these issues are most likely individual ones which have to be examined one by one, since there are so many different HW/SW combinations out there. So I ask you and your friend to write to our support. But as stated before: Usage of Melodyne essential RTAS with Pro Tools 7.4 is on your own risk, since we have not approved it.

Thanks - he is on 8.0.1 for PTLE. He is working the problem so we'll see where he is at in the next few days and if still an issue I will have him send info/logs etc.
