This may not be an issue with Melodyne but you should be aware of it.

I connect through an M-Audio Firewire 410. When the 410 output was line 1/2 Melodyne worked ok. Now I have changed to optical digital (SPDIF), neither Logic nor Melodyne work. The programs start and I can load files, but I cannot play any file.

When I connect back to core audio, or reconnect regular analog line input, both programs work again.

I thought you should know in case M-Audio say - it's your problem.

I don't know if this is a problem for example, with other digital connections.

    I use Apple G5 10.4.4 2.5 Ghz 4.5Gb RAM.

Sorry, since I don't think this is a Melodyne issue, I have moved the topic to the "General" forum.

I guess these applications are waiting for a master clock, before they can play your files.

In the "Hardware Settings" on the M-Audio control panel, you can set the "Master Clock" to either "Internal Xtal" or "S/PDIF In". Which one have you selected?

Hi Claudio, thanks for the fast response. In my version of the M-Audio control panel - hardware section, the sync source is either internal or external. I'm set to internal. Changing the source to external made no difference.

I agree that this is likely an M-Audio problem. Just wanted to make you aware of it.

Although, I'm open to the idea that I may be doing something foolish, so I'm open to more ideas!

    David
