    3.2.2.2

    Mac OSX 10.7.3
I used to use Melodyne Studio on my previous Mac. I downloaded Melodyne 3.2.2.2 from the My Melodyne page onto my new Mac which is Lion 10.7.3. At the start of the download I got a message saying 'this program needs to run on a 32Bit system, will you change to 32bit?' so I clicked yes and it downloaded ok, but when I clicked the dmg file to open it and install the program, nothing happens.
Mac Lion was using (and failing with) DiscImageMounter.app (default). The 'Open With' menu had an alternative option: Disc Utility Mac.

Is it safe to try to open Melodyne with the Disc Utility Mac - that's not what is usually used to open dmg files? The main thing is, I don't want to scramble my new Mac - I don't know if the 3.2.2.2 Studio is compatible with Lion - I did look in FAQ and this forum but didn't find anything completely relevant.

Also, should I try to download and run the Studio update even though I haven't been able to open and install the basic Studio app yet?

Should I try Melodyne Editor 1 and try to install that instead? I used to have it on my old Mac but never used it - I just stuck with the Studio which was fine.

Yes, I do have my licenses Active on iLok, and the ilok is plugged in and 'on'.

    Hello Carol,

Sorry for the late reply, I needed to doublecheck with the team.

This is not a common issue. We can install Melodyne studio on Mac OS X without any issues or error messages. We have not received any other bug reports like yours either.

Anyway, please try the Disk Utility option. Let us know, if you get any further error messages.

And yes, you might want to install Melodyne editor as well, if you need a real plug-in in your DAW or if you’d like to benefit from the additional features (e.g. DNA Direct Note Access) that aren’t in Melodyne studio.

I am having an impossible time with Lion, Logic 9, and Melodyne Studio. Melodyne Bridge comes up with crashed validation under AU manager and freezes Logic. I have tried reinstalling from my CD to a lower version 3.2.1.5 but now I can open the 3.2.2.2 image to go back to the upgrade. Has anyone been successful?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Claudio,
I tried the Disk Utility and Repair option but it made no difference. Then I found my 'old' dmg I'd used on my previous Mac Snow Leopard - it installed right away with no problems!

However that old dmg was 68MB and the new one I couldn't get to install was 88MB.

Now I'm very happy to have my Melodyne back - but.....what am I missing out on???

Another Question: can I install and run both Studio and Editor on the same Mac and then choose which one to use?

Or do I have to choose between the 2 and have only one installed?

Possibly it’s just the PDF manual and the Experience Tour with its example files.

Yes, both Melodyne editions can co-exist happily together. :)

Thanks for the info Claudio - I hate to think I'm missing out on anything - I don't mind not having those extras.

You may be interested: my new Mac with Lion installed would not recognize my old audio interface (Tascam US122) at all, so I had to upgrade - I went with the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB and I'm very happy with it.
