I have Cubase 5 and use Melodyne PlugIn 1.0.4.2 VST. The Bounce Back from Audio menu in Cubase is not working, it gives you back the same track without the Melodyne edits.
I am also trying to export the track but not sure I am doing it well.
Once edited the track with Melodyne I solo it then mute Melodyne and go to the File Menu to Export Track. I am required to Reference or Copy it. I tried both of them but it seems to save the track without any edits, when I import it again in the project is the same old track....
    Please help!

    Hey Fapi,

what do you mean: you mute Melodyne? Could this be your mistake?

I mean that I deactivate the plug-in as otherwise I will continue to hear the track through Melodyne while I want the edited truck to be bounced to my project.

When you deactivate Melodyne, you obviously bypass all its edits. Please do the same without the muting part, and let me know if the resulting track is what you are looking for.

I have done again the process as follows:
-edited a track with Melodyne Plugin
-exported the track into a new folder on the HD this time keeping the plugin on
-reimported the track into the project
but the track is still the original one without the Melodyne edits

My system configuration is the following:
    iMAC OS X 10.5.6 2GHX Intel Core Duo, Memory 2GB 667 MHz
    Cubase 5.0.147
    Melodyne Plugin 1.0.4.2 VST

I really like your sw but please help me so that I can use it...

Do you have the same problem with other insert effects, such as compression? I do not know C5 but with my good old Cubase VST I need to make a mixdown with my track soloed to get it bounced with effects.

Someone suggested me to use the standalone version of Melodyne.
Could it be the right fix?

    Hi Fapi,

    Just so we're clear:

You put Melodyne on an insert of the channel you are working on; make your edits; set locator bars around the file; the go FILE>EXPORT>AUDIO MIXDOWN.

And using that process, you had a file that did not contain the edits?

    Or did you select: "Bounce"?

If you used the "bounce" process, it will not contain the FX from the inserts or sends.

    cheers!

Another option is to use the free routing feature of C5.

    1) You set up a "dummy" output in the VST Connections setup (where you map your hardware outputs). Don't map the connection to anything - leave it unconnected.

    2) Now select the new output as the destination for your audio track with the Melodyne plugin.

    3) Create a new audio track and select the new output as the source for the new audio track.

    4) Hit the monitor button on the new audio track enable it for recording and record, just as if you were recording from an input.

I like this approach particularly for my Multi-out VSTi's like BDF2. I can "bounce" all my drum tracks in one go this way.

Thank you guys I will try your suggestions these days. In particular, I like the Ron's solution.

I think the one thing I would be cautious about using that method is small amounts of latency that can be introduced. Especially if your card doesn't do direct monitoring...just something to be aware of, since we all aren't using the same audio sound cards.

    cheers!

The routing is internal to Cubase and has absolutely nothing to do with your soundcard. It is a sample accurate no latency solution.

In Nuendo 3, a simple export audio (to pool), will bring it back into the project. This works perfectly even with the "real time" unchecked.
