I too love Editor and want to first thank Celemony and their team for the great software!

Many of us have asked for the blobs to be colored differently based on whether or not they have been altered in any way.

I saw this update, and all I looked for was the word "colors" or "color"

    "NOTHING"

Why are we still stuck with having to first highlight blobs, then select "clear pitch" just to see if they have been changed, then "UNDO"?

Digital Performer has had pitch correction for years, and the color of data changes when it has been altered. DP also allows the user to copy, paste and draw pitch modulation (vibrato).

WHY WHY WHY does Celemony (the king) not allow these primitive features of pitch automation/correction? When I asked about this vibrato editing, I was told the quality did not meet the team's requirements. I say,,, let us users decide whether or not the quality of our editing is "good enough".

PLEASE GIVE US COLORS.. so primitive.

I get tired of the Editor plugin hosted by Digital Performer 7.11 not staying on "no snap". I never want Melodyne to decide the pitch, I want to be in complete control of exactly where the note will be heard. Quite often, I go back to a different vocal track with Melodyne already transferred and edited, and I have to AGAIN choose "no snap". It is not staying where I put it.

Thanks very much for reading my post, and please make these changes.
I will gladly pay for these improvements.
    Dan

    Hello Dan,

thanks for your input. The Melodyne editor 1.1 update is basically a service update. It fixes some bugs and has numerous improvements here and there (the most important one being the sound quality), but it doesn't introduce any new features. Hence no colors. This and the "No Snap" issue will have to be addressed in a future update.

Personally, I think that more "options" in general are the way to go for Celemony. Then it's not so dramatic what features to implement, that some migth prefer and others not. I see your point in wanting to know what material that has been altered and I see the point in wanting to keep things clean and option on/off do both. There's plenty of room in the regular menu-bar.

Personally I want the option/toggle to set the intended notes-blocks to intended notes-blobs. A shaped blob replica placed on the pitch-center and a performed blob with it's deviation is impossible to miss. When they overlap completely, then you know your spot on pitch. If amplitude makes blobs big, so are the intended blobs big. It is making good use of a graphical interface. (Yeah, I never miss an opportunity to point it out;) So add more options in Editor and let the user find his way. Everyone is happy with options so the option-upgrade 1.2 would be popular.

PS. I like your composition "Transitions in life" on you page. Very good arrangement. How do you modulate the solo-violin so well with the glissandos and vibratos?

Thank you! It is the Garritan Stradivari solo violin. The portamento (portamenti :)) speed is controlled by the velocity of the next, or target note. A low velocity creates a big slide from the note being played as the next note is played, provided the notes are played legato, (connected). If notes are played legato and the next note has a high velocity, there is no sliding to the next note. Really awesome design.

The vibrato is controlled with the mod-wheel and aftertouch controls the vibrato speed. Sad that these solo stringed instruments are no longer available. The Garritan Stradivari solo violin and the Garritan Gofriller solo cello were taken off the market because of some issues between the designer and Garritan. Even though Garritan was an attorney, he is too nice to take someone to court over something like that.

Thank you creater for the nice compliment.

    Dan

thank you Claudio for always being so kind in regard to our comments here.
I trust you have taken these ideas to the makers. :)

    Very respectfully,
    Dan
