    Hello,

I have two major problems when correcting the note detection in Melodyne editor 2.0.1 and Pro Tools HD 9:

    1) It does not seem to be possible to select multiple blobs which are on the wrong pitch and move them to the correct one. Lets say I have a bass playing eighth notes on a C1 and some of the notes have been incorrectly detected as C2. Instead of selecting all the notes that are in the wrong octave I have to select each one individually and drag it to the correct pitch. It would be extremely helpful if it was possible to make the note detection correction behave in exactly the same way as the normal pitch detection.

    2) When I am correcting note detections manually sometimes Melodyne won't allow me to move the blobs to the correct pitch, no matter what I do. Usually when that happens it is only off by a semitone and I just leave it but sometimes it is off by several semitones.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    I've also noticed this.

Very likely it's because those actions are not allowed in note assignment/detection mode; you need to go back to normal mode to make such changes.

That's exactly my point: It would make my life a lot easier (and I assume everybody else's) if it was possible to correct the note detection for multiple notes at the same time.

The same is true for my other point: Being able to correct Melodyne's note detection is vital to it working correctly, otherwise it can introduce artefacts when you change a note in normal mode. I don't understand why I can't override Meoldyne's pitch detection in note assignment mode to tell it what pitch a note actually is if it gets it wrong.

    Hello funkymothers,

Melodyne’s note detection is based on an analysis of the frequency spectrum as well as some physical probability. If you can’t move a blob to a certain pitch, then very likely there is no “energy” at that particular frequency for Melodyne to detect and thus no “potential note”. Have you already tried a different setting of the note assignment slider?

    Many thanks for your reply.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I am using Melodyne editor (RTAS plug-in) in Pro Tools with melodic (monophonic) material. I can't see a slider to adjust the detection range.
